Please be advised that due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires, a spike in the Air Quality Index (AQI) is possible.
While Air Quality Index levels are forecast to range from 'Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups' to 'Unhealthy' for all during this time, residents are advised that there may be short periods of time where the Air Quality Index temporarily worsens and reaches the 'Very Unhealthy' or 'Hazardous' levels on Thursday, June 29.
New York State OEM may issue a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) to residents, if the AQI exceeds 200 for one hour or more. AirNow provides online monitoring of the current air quality.
Please seek medical attention if you experience respiratory symptoms. As always, if you need emergency assistance, please call the PMPD 914-738-1000 or 911.
