Tomorrow, Monday, January 15 we honor Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. for his contributions to the civil rights movement. MLK Jr. was the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and was tragically assassinated shortly thereafter at the young age of 39. MLK dreamt that all inhabitants of the Unites States would be judged by their personal qualities and not by the color of their skin. The Nobel Prize organization provides a further overview of his legacy.
As a reminder, Village Hall will be closed tomorrow and there will be modified refuse collection this week. Pursuant to the Refuse Collection Schedule (PDF), Monday's collection will occur on Tuesday, and Tuesday's collection will occur on Wednesday.
