What is a Knox Box?
The Knox Box Rapid Entry System provides secure emergency access to commercial and residential properties for first responders. The fire service uses the various Knox key boxes, vaults, padlocks, and key switches to allow immediate entry into building and property without forced entry damage or delay. The Knox Rapid Entry System was developed to save lives and property.

You may purchase a Knox Box online through the Knox Box Company or by calling 1-800-566-9369.
How to order a Knox Box
Once on the Knox Company website follow the steps below to order the appropriate product:
- Choose your local fire department agency on top left of page. Select New York State then type Pelham Manor
- Select Pelham Manor from the pop up.
- Select products and choose accordingly and fill out installation address
- Create Account
- Select “eApprove” which will proceed with our order.
- Select “Proceed with Pre-Authorization Order”.
- The Knox Company will notify your chosen department to obtain the required authorization. Upon authorization, you will be sent an email with a link to complete the order with payment information and shipping preference.
- Once you have installed the box you will need to call the Fire Department at 914-738-8825 to schedule an appointment to have the keys secured in the Knox Box.
