Village Manager/Clerk

The Village Manager is an appointed position that serves as the Chief Executive Officer. The position is responsible for ensuring the laws of the state and local laws, ordinances, rules, and bylaws of the Board of Trustees are faithfully executed. The Village Manager also performs the duties of Village Clerk and Budget Officer.

Under a well structured plan, the Village Manager works collaboratively with our other appointed Village Officials: Building Inspector, Fire Chief, Police Chief, and Village Treasurer.

Manager's Biography

Lindsey M. Luft joined the Village of Pelham Manor in January, 2023. She has worked in a City, Town, Village(s), and a School District, which has provided her with a thorough understanding of the complexities of local government in New York State. She has been involved with grants management since the start of her career and places a high value on their benefit to a local's funding structure. Ms. Luft believes that working in local government provides the opportunity to build a community from the most unique perspective. As a member of the International City/County Management Association, she firmly abides by a career of nonpartisanship.

Her dedication to professional development is demonstrated by her commitment to maintaining her wide scope of knowledge. Ms. Luft holds a Master of Science in Public Administration, with a certification in Nonprofit Management, and is a member of the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. She completed her undergraduate work at SUNY Brockport, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, and was inducted into the National Honor Society for Health Education.

Ms. Luft is the current President of the Municipal Administrators Association of Metropolitan New York (MAA), having previously served as Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer of that organization. She is also affiliated with the New York State City/County Management Association (NYSCMA) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Most recently, she successfully completed the Certified Stormwater Inspector course conducted by the National Stormwater Center and the Pipeline Assessment Certification Program through NASSCO. She remains passionate about local government and staying up-to-date with best practices.
